JOHNSVILLE AUCTION HOUSE
You want to see a huge auction with a spread over tables and tables (with dozens and dozens of hot dogs?) Make sure to attend one of the big antique/collectible auctions on either Memorial Day or Labor Day. I made the personal choice to make an appearance at the Johnsville Auction House for the Memorial Day weekend festivities, and had an overall good experience.
There was a HUGE selection of rare and desirable items, and the bidder base willing to pay top dollar. Like I mentioned before, there was no shortage of cool items - there were tables and tables and tables. Plenty for all, at a variety of price points. At the Johnsville Auction House, there can be up to FOUR auctioneers going at any given time. You don’t want to skip the preview/inspection, as you want to note your lots early. Come with energy - lots of energy.
And, of course, we’re not talking about a Memorial Day auction unless we take the time to talk about the food. This place had plenty of good snacks - fried chicken, and awesome cupcakes for sale at concessions. It was definitely a step up from the regular auction fare of hot dogs and suspicious sandwiches of questionable nature.

There was ample parking (definitely noteworthy for these larger auctions), but you’ll fare better if you come in a pickup truck, as you are parking in a field and the lot spaces are limited (a downside for those of us with cars that can get stuck in the smallest patches of wet grass.

Go easy on the liquids. There’s one bathroom and one port-a-potty and sometimes the lines were longer for the bathroom than the last keg party you went to (assuming you didn’t drink enough to completely forget your last kegger).
